Project Manager - Stage Rigging & Theatrical Systems
Location: Preference for candidates located within 60 minutes of our Indianapolis, IN office
Travel: Up to 50%

Associated Controls + Design, a full service theatrical and entertainment systems integrator, is looking for a Project Manager with the manage projects, and support stage rigging and drapery systems and related equipment. Safely hanging battens shouldn't be a pipe dream. This team member will truly raise the bar when it comes to professional knowledge and experience. This position will be responsible for project management functions and specification support, estimating, and developing proposals. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering drawings, building plans, and specifications, as well as job site operations and safety. What you will do at Associated Controls + Design:
- Understand overall expectations and timelines of projects.
- Read/interpret/manipulate specifications, building plans & drawings, riser diagrams, etc.
- Maintain existing and develop new supplier relationships.
- Learn and apply ACD installation standards. (we have pretty high standards, but we're worth it)
- Proactively coordinate and facilitate submittals, shipments, and installation schedules to ensure timely project completion.
- Clearly communicate with and proactively coordinate with other trades on-site to ensure timely installation without hindering the progress of others.
- Work with our installation, engineering, and sales teams to creatively solve site challenges.
- Specify stage rigging systems
- Create accurate takeoffs of needed equipment; obtain pricing from ACD suppliers; work with Installation Manager for labor estimates; create final proposals/bids.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of rigging, drapery, and related equipment. Field installation experience a plus.
What you bring:
• Minimum 5 years of stage rigging experience (lighting and/or AV systems experience a plus).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with project budgeting and planning.
• Experience with standard office software (MS Office, Acrobat/Bluebeam), Vectorworks or AutoCAD.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a safety first mindset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work at heights on ladders, lifts, and stage grids.
• A valid driver’s license, and flexibility for travel (up to 50%).
• Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in motorized hoist and automation systems.
• Experience in integrating rigging with other performance systems.
• ETCP Theatre Certified Rigger or willingness to attain certification.
